GOD SHALL BRING IT TO PASS!

God wants us to dwell in the land, have the desires of our heart, and see His blessings come to pass in our lives.

Psalms 37:3-5 (NKJV) 3Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. 4Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. 5Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. 

King David shares three steps in these verses to having the blessings of God in our lives. Let’s discover them! 

Step 1: TRUST IN THE LORD & DO GOOD

  • The first step is to trust in God! (Hebrews 11:6)
  • We can only do good when we trust Him.
  • Trusting God will enable us to dwell in the land of promise.
  • We do not have to worry about being taken care of – we can feed on His faithfulness (He is faithful to feed us!)

Step 2: DELIGHT YOURSELF IN THE LORD

  • The second step is to delight yourself in the Lord!
  • Delight (“aònag” in Hebrew; be soft or pliable) yourself in the Lord the way that twp people who love each other would do. 
  • This includes choosing to honor and worship God.
  • This would also mean spending time with God and His Word, and putting Him first place in your life.
  • THEN God will give us the desires of our heart!

Step 3: COMMIT YOUR WAY UNTO THE LORD

  • The third step is to commit your ways to God. This requires trusting God on your part.
  • Commit (“gaòlal” in Hebrew; roll) your way unto the Lord.
  • The idea is to continually roll or commit our way to God.
  • Continual commitment toward God is needed in order to receive on a daily basis!
  • WHEN we commit our ways to God, THEN God will commit to bringing His promises to pass in our lives!

When we do these things, God SHALL bring to pass the blessings we need from Him.

Say this together, “Trust, delight, and commit!” 

Today is the day we must determine to trust, delight, and commit to God ways — THEN He will bring His blessings into our lives.

  •  Will you determine to trust in God?
  •  Will you determine to delight yourself in the Lord?
  •  Will you determine to commit your ways to the Lord?
