DON’T BLAME GOD

3 John 2 (NKJV) “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

Some people think this verse is only part of a greeting from the Apostle John to a man named Gaiu, but this verse is much more than that!

This verse is the Word of God for us today and it is the will of God for His people. 

Specifically, this verse states that God desires for His people to do well in their Christian journey. However, in order to become firmly established in the will of God, we must look at several scriptures.

Luke 3:16 — JESUS SAID SATAN CAUSED THE WOMAN TO BE BOUND WITH SICKNESS. 

1. Here we have a woman who was bent over for 18 years by a “spirit of sickness.”
2. In verse 16, Jesus further identifies Satan as the author of this woman’s sickness.
3. Satan has many evil spirits working for him, many which promote sickness and disease (reference Mark 9:25 and Luke 9:42).
4. This helps us to clearly understand that God did not cause this woman’s condition and God was only interested in her being healed. 
5. God is not to blame for this woman’s sickness as Jesus Himself said it was Satan who did this!

John 10:10 — JESUS SAID THE THIEF COMES TO STEAL, KILL, AND DESTROY. 

1. This verse presents a direct comparison of Jesus doing good and the devil doing bad.
2. This means that the thief (the devil) tries to steal, kill, or destroy us, including our health.
3. The latter part of this verse identifies Jesus as the author of life more abundantly, including healing and health.
4. Again, we must conclude that God is not to blame for sickness and disease!

Acts 10:38 — JESUS CAME TO HEAL ALL WHO WERE OPPRESSED OF THE DEVIL!

1. This verse reveals that Satan is the author of oppression and all the sicknesses and diseases that accompany it.
2. The word oppression in connection with the devil indicates that Satan holds power or lordship over people through sickness and disease.
3. Notice that Jesus came to heal ALL that were oppressed of the devil.
4. Again, after looking at this scripture, we must conclude that God is not to blame for sickness and disease — He is the Healer!

CONCLUSION

These scriptures definitely show us that God is not to blame for the sickness and disease that holds people in bondage. God is the author of healing and health! 

The good news is that we have authority over the author of sickness and disease, and we can tell Satan to leave and take his sickness and disease with him.

I want you to know that God is not to blame for your sickness! God is ready to heal you. Are you ready to pray and ask God for your healing? Amen!
